Default Find the right vet

Hi everyone,
i decided to make a small list with ideas about
finding the right vet. Maybe we can extend it
together in the future.

My list so far :
- ask family, friends, forum members, the staff at
the animal shelter for vet recommendations
- visit the vet and look around there ( is it clean ?
is there a friendly atmosphere ? )
- if there are lots of clients at the vet it is a sign that
he/she is popular, you can also ask the other clients
how they like him/her
- speak to the vet, you can ask about his/her education
and previous experiences
- ask yourself "do you and the pet feel comfortable
there ?"
- is the vet easy and fast to reach for you ?
- how are the office hours and payment ?

I am not sure, but could it be, that the vet gets mad when i go to his clinic without an animal just to ask other people how they like him ?

I don't think it should be a problem. If the vet would
get mad, he or she is maybe not the right vet anyways.

Those pointers are helpful, Carla. I will surely benefit from this whenever must find one for my pet. Dana, Carla is right that if a vet reacts negatively on what you do then he or she is not an ideal for your pet then.

All I can say is, yes, you better find the right vet that you can trust. My dog died and I blame it to the vet to who we took her when she had flu. She died the following day.
