Do you have a tarantula?

Being as terrified as I am of spiders of all kind, I can't believe I'm writing about this.... but I'm curious!

Do any of you have a tarantula? One of my classes in school had one, and I never understood the appeal. I know a lot of people are fans of these critters, so maybe someone here can explain it to me?

I am not afraid of spiders but I am afraid of tarantulas. I am not afraid of holding it but then I am afraid of it's venom. A lot of people who loves exotic animals as pets especially this arachnid type, helps me think that they are very brave enough to take care of this as a pet. Taking care of tarantulas here in my country is forbidden because you have to get necessary permits first.
