Deadly food for leopard geckos
I am a proud owner of a beautiful leopard gecko. I love her and i know what great little creatures they are so i just wanted to warn every leopard gecko owner out there about calcium dust. a little over a year ago it was time for us to start dusting my geckos meal worms into calcium dust. I went to our local store and they suggested extra phosphorus dust. I took this home and began to ude it. a few feedings later my geckos tale was half the width it used to be and she would not eat her food. I took her to our store and they said she had one of the worst infections they had ever seen. Gen (my gecko) was dying. We took her to the vet and they said it was because of the phosphorus in her. Luckily after 14 days of shots, oral medications and force feeding, gen was all right. So if you are a new leopard gecko owner and you are almost ready to get the calcium dust, makr sure it is phosphorus free!
