I called him Freddy after Friday the 13 because of his long nails. I loved that turtle! But i guess it got old or something because it just died in the tank one day v.v,
I always let him out to run around on the ground and hide under clothes etc. They like that and sunbathing. Did you know you can feed them egg shells, lettuce, and goldfish. I've had 3 turtles. 2 i currently own now and they eat it all. |

That is good to know. We just got a turtle, but we haven't decided on a name. He just scoots around the floor when we let him out. We only got him last night, but already I learned that turtles are not just for those who don't have the stamina for a real pet. He's actually pretty cool.

Errr...I just posted a new thread about turtles. I don't have a pet turtle but my friend has two. One is named after me. He likes them so much but I hate it whenever his calling the turtle using my name! Grrr... The best thing about choosing turtles as pet is that they can live up to 30 years. You probably might not have to grieve over its death unless it commits suicide. Turtles can be very susceptible to viruses and bacteria and I think this is the only big disadvantage of having turtles as pets. The best thing about them is that they are not hard to feed. Land turtles are mostly herbivores so, just buy them a pack of lettuce and they're good!
