Default Worm rabbits

hello,

The best thing to worm rabbits with, as some little white worms have been found in there rabbits poo. I think the worms must be about 1/4 inch long and very fine. What type are they and what is the treatment.

Hi,

I have a small stud of 13 rabbits and I have recently noticed that they have worms around their rears. The worms are clear/whitish, up to 1cm long and about 0.5mm thick. They are not maggots. I think they are internal. The rabbits have diarrhoea. Does anybody know of anything that I can buy to get rid of the worms and where I can get this from? I have made phonecalls to the vets and they have told me that I need to take in all 13 rabbits to get them weighed individually to know the correct dosage. This would be quite a hassle and would probably cost me a bomb. Is there anybody that could tell me if this is my only option.

Sounds like Pinworms, normally not a problem unless they get too numerous, as is apparent since you can see them Usual med for Pinworms is Piperazine 1oz/gallon drinking water for 3 days, repeated twice at 30 day intervals. No need to weigh, dosage is same for small or large rabbits.

If you've found a worm on your rabbit's poop, you better bring your poor rabbit to the veterinarian. No one can accurately tell what worm is inside your rabbit except the experts. Also, they immediately figure out the best treatment for it.
