My moms poodle is so funny when it is someone's birthday or at christmas he expects a gift or 5 for him.He gets really depressed if nothing for him.Believe it or not he will sniff around the tree before Christmas and know exactly which of the gifts are going to be his. I have some pics to share of him snooping.

Hi. my dog is the opposite and gets scared when people rip paper off presents, especially if the gift is in a plastic bag.

My dog doesn't really get into the holiday spirit, the new kitten however, gets into absolutely everything! We're all fearing for the welfare of giftwrap

My Mom's old dog (she's dead now for a few years) always loved getting gifts. We'd wrap chew toys or bones for her and she would dig and claw at the paper until her new toy was unwrapped. That's so cute that your dog looks around the tree - like checking labels.

I love the way they act its so cute like a baby, I know some dogs that just jump up with joy when they think that you have something for them, its adorable.

My parent's cats were the same way; they expected a gift on Christmas. I always thought they were just weird, but I guess it isn't all that uncommon afterall! My parent's would purchase a toy for each of them, usually something small like a sponge ball or a toy mouse, and they would play with them for the rest of the day. Those cats were so spoiled.

Well like I said in previous posts. They do not think of themselves as "pets" they think of them as family members. So wrapping up a rubber mouse or a new chewtoy might spark their confidence when it comes christmas time. I alway wrap a doggy bone on October 8th. (my dogs birthday) He knows what date he was born. Smart dog. I do it regardless of money or not. You could aways buy your pet something.
