Have you guys used products like the Advantage or Frontline liquid flea treatments? My understanding is that you have to select the dosage by weight. It comes in a little tube and you place it on the back of the cat or dog's neck, where they can't lick it off.
My cat has fleas and I'm looking into this stuff, but am a little wary because my grandmother had a very bad experience with it. She put it on the back of her cat's neck, and the cat somehow managed to get a lick of the stuff. He started foaming at the mouth and died later that night. I don't want the same thing to happen to my kitty. Has anyone else had a bad experience with this? Are there other flea treatments that you'd recommend instead? Please let me know, thanks. |

Yeah, My sisters dog had gotten a flea treatment by the groomer and tacked it on her bill. They charged her 30.00 for the flea treatment. It kind of sucked because they were going to make me stay there until I fronted half of the payment. Heck I did not know he had fleas. My sister did not tell me he did. I only had 90 dollars to begin with and 30 went for cab fare. Cannot pay more then you have.

That's true, and it sounds like a bad experience for you. Did the product work though? Did your sister's dog have any bad reactions to it, or was it okay? I'm not as concerned about the financial aspect of it as I am about whether it's safe for an animal's health.

Batman3223 that really is an odd experience but why did you take your sisters dog to the vet. Why did she not take the dog to the vet. I sympthize with you on the excessive cab fare you must have been traveling to another city. Not all vets require payments right away. I suggest if it happens again to contact your vet and explain what happened and why you cannot pay in full. Most will work with you and well some will be butts about the subject but you could find another vet.

I have tried using the frontline flea control this product is effective in removing dog flea. Its kindda expensive though but its worth it. For sure this product would hurt your pocket.
Why dont you try using Bayer soap (Asuntol) i think its the cheapest and effective flea and thick removal. And the price is way to affordable than frontline. Actually i only use frontline if cant control the flea. |
