Default parakeet grooming you must do it regularly

i can not stress how you must take care of a parakeet you must clip their nails because sometimes they get too long and end up curling and getting too long and its very bad for them. to clip their nails you need to get a nail clipper especially designed for birds and you usually clip their nails at the paint where there is no flesh ( you can see this where the nail gets lighter) if you can not tell where the flesh is just trim the points of the nails slightly. you must also clip their feather if they get oo long but this is not necessary and of course you must clean out their cage regularly but that is a given haha

Interesting! I never knew you had to clip their nails (talons? claws?) before! I guess you only have to clip their wings if you don't want them to fly, right?

Yes, yes, yes!

Most often pet owners think of only dogs or cats that need grooming, which is not true. Birds, small mammals, even some species of reptiles need personal care. Their nails and teeth grow fast to accomodate what they would have naturally needed in the wild.
