Default Pet Turtles!!!

I have a friend who likes animals so much. When we were younger he had different pets like Iguana, Snakes, Cats, Parrots and many others. He made his house like a menagerie! Now, he's enjoying his pet turtles! Two of them already died, though. Currently, his taking care of two small turtles. That's the last time we talked about some weeks ago. Maybe now, they're a lot bigger since, according to him, they eat a lot. Dunno with him why he chose turtles as pet. One fascinating thing about these animals is that they have suicidal tendency. They'd starve themselves to death when they're lonely.

I had a pet turtle before. One died and the other one remained with us. But it really seemed lonely when it became alone we decided to leave it in a pond so it might find a new friend.

That's so interesting. You used to have pet turtles!? I heard, turtles are hard to handle. They are susceptible to viruses so you cannot just hold them anytime you want for you might be virus carrier. They're even more fragile than some babies (human)!

Really is it?! My cousins take care of turtles when we are young. They've just got it from nowhere because its in our province. Never thought that turtles are very sensitive beyond having a hard shell. They are cute and would be happy to have one but I think I am not responsible enough to take care of pets such this. My daughter might touch this and as you've said they have a lot of germs.

Really? I never had a hard time dealing with my pet turtles. For me, they are the lowest maintenance pets I had. I just put them in a small fish bowl. Too bad they are too boring.

Turtles are cool animals. A friend of me has 2 and i like to watch them. Of course they are not very active or entertaining, but nevertheless i like to spend time observing them. If their terrarium is big enough they are easy to handle.

I think that's the idea of taking care of turtles. To observe them and be entertained by them. They are cute creatures but not everyone likes to have one. There are beliefs that if you house a turtle, you will have bad luck. I wonder how true.

Really ? I never heard of it. I better don't tell my friend. Is it something religious or just a common saying ?

I do not know how true. I just heard it from some folks in the province. We found a stray turtle outside my cousins house and we took it inside. My aunt suddenly started yelling at us, telling us to throw the jinx away! We got scared and we believed her. Now, I don't know what to believe in. It could be just an old belief, though.

Actually there is a superstitious belief in our country about bad luck if you have pet turtles. My family does not believe in superstitions so we didn’t mind at all.
