Default Guinnea Pigs

Does anyone have a guinnea pig? I've been thinking about getting one or two even though we just got the puppy. Is it better to have one by itself, or do they like company? What kind of cage do you need for them?

They are such neat little animals. My cousin Timothy has one, and his neighbor has one. Their's is a girl and his is a boy. And his little thing makes bubble noises when the girl is around. Its so funny.
I don't know if you should get two or not, but they like a little room to run around in. If you can't have a large cage, get one of those large plastic balls from the pet store to let him roll around the place. Tim's loves that little ball. He just rolls all over the place.

Guinea Pigs are ideal pets because they are affectionate and social; are cheap to buy and maintain and rarely bite; don’t require vaccinations and are not prone to disease; won’t rip your house up; don’t smell because unlike their fellow rodents, they don’t have musk glands; can be litter trained although they have a 'short bladder span'; don’t require a lot of space and are thus ideal for people living in small dwellings like apartments or townhouses.

When I was younger, I was scared of rodents...any type of rodents. My classmate from grade school brought one inside the classroom. He was able to sneak it in. Another classmate took it and brought to to me. I got scared and pushed it away from me, which caused the poor guinea pig to fall.Sorry.
