I wanted to know does anyone actually own a hedgehog? Can you have one as a pet? I have never seen one upclose, onlly in zoos so I am not too sure, but I am just curious.

A friend of mine owns a white hedgehog. It is very cute, but they are pretty much nocturnal so it sleeps most of the day. It does play a bit if you take it out of the cage. Not the most active or exciting pet, I think.

is owning a hedgehog any similar to having a hamster? I would think they seem the same as in housing one and I know they would have to be in a cage most of the time,but it does not sound interesting at all.

hey thanks guys, I was doing some research on seeing whether I can be able to have a hedgehog as a pet and I am planning on getting one and see how that works out.

whoa i never heard of someone owning a headgehog i always thought you couldnt howdo you pet a hedgehog?wont their spines get in the way?

I have only seen these on t.v. and at the zoo. I don't think I would want a pet that sleeps all day and up all night. Do they make any noise?
