Default Why a hedgehog ?

I never heard of people who have a hedgehog as a pet. Of course i know that people take care of hedgehogs in winter but not the whole year. Now i would like to know why people have one as a pet ? I mean it is a wild animal you can't train. And how do you re-adjust his typical home in a house ?

It would be nice if someone could say something about it.

I never heard of it, too. In Germany it is not common to make that. At least i never met a person who does it or hear from a person. I would not want a hedgehog at home anyways.

I have never seen a person that owns a hedgehog, too. Maybe it is really something uncommon or just a few people who would want a hedgehog as a pet.

Thank you both so far. It is really strange. I mean a hedgehog is a nice animal and they are cute to watch but not as a pet. The normal hedgehog just walks around in the nature and does not make much. You can not train him or cuddle him. I guess it is better to let him stay where he is naturally from.

I agree that it is really strange to keep something as a pet when you cannot enjoy owning it. I always think that a pet and owner should have a certain bond but how could you develop that bond if you cannot touch it?
