Default How much food for Gold Fish?

I have started keeping Gold Fishes. I have four of them. I have noticed that how much quantity of food I am giving them seems to be not enough for them. I would like to know how much dry food should I give them?

I think it should be about a pinch only. The tendency is that there will be a lot of leftovers if you will put a lot. If you think that they are still hungry, add another pinch. By that time you will get an approximate how much food should be given.

It really must be a pinch because a lot of left over will be left like Cessy said. Fish food left overs on fish tanks will only make the tank dirty. Filthy water can could be dangerous to your fish health. Give them just a little if they are still hungry you can give them another one. You can still repeat giving them a right amount of food later.

Leftover foods are one of the reasons why a fish tank gets dirty. Aside from the hazards of dirty water, it will also save you from frequent washing of the aquarium.

I would just like to state that fish do not have stomachs like us. They do not 'fill up'. So when their is food there in the tank they will eat and eat. The food that don't see, is what you are caling 'leftovers'. So their stomachs will just burst. It is vital that you do not give them more than needed. One/two (depending on how many fish you have) small pinch every morning and evening is fine.

Also, fish with high quality food will not discrete as much as fish with low quality food. So higher quality means lower hassle fro cleaning out tanks.

Fish also like to have a variety of foods. Change the food every other week or so. See which ones they like most. And then use those and change them over often. maybe have 3/4 varieties for them. They also like a variety of types of food, eg.dry, sticks, flakes.

I hope i have given you infomation that is helpful.
