Default animal sponsor

Today i would like to speak about animal sponsoring. I think animal sponsoring is a good way to show your love for animals when you are not able to have an animal yourself or when you just want to make something meaningful with your money. There are different ways of animal sponsoring. Animal shelters offer sponsorships to get some money for their work. And of course zoos offer it, too. There are moreover offers in the net, for example you can become the sponsor of an elephant in Africa. There are different price ranges, so everyone should be able to help. I am a proud sponsor of an elephant. I decided to make it after i heard all these terrible ivory hunter stories. So if you are looking for a good birthday present, this might be an idea !

Hi Dana,
it depends on your home country. Because it is the best when you do a sponsorship through an organisation from your country. Then there will be less organisational problems. WWF is active in nearly every country and offers some sponsorships, too. So you should check their website for more information. Or just search for "animal name+sponsorship" with a search engine. Good luck.

How do you know that they really use the
money for the elephants ? I know that WWF
is a big and serious organisation. But what
about the smaller ones ? Do they send you
a report about their actions ?

Once a year, you'll get a small report about your elephant, which gives you information about his progression and so on. You'll also receive new photos every year. Of course you can not check if they use every cent for it. I guess there you'll need a bit trust.
