Toilet Training for Cats?

I'm tired of paying for litter, so much so that I'm seriously considering the toilet training method so I can be litter-free completely. I just don't know where to begin. Has anyone here had experience with training a cat to use the toilet? Can you recommend any kits or programs to use to make this happen?

My cousins trained their cats to go to the toilet when they need to do something by letting them spend the night inside the bathroom. I think most animals tend to use a common spot. After several days, their cats would go inside the bathroom on their own.
