Default A bird to choose

Need help regarding bird pets, guys. We are living in a city and in an apartment. If I would choose taking care of a bird do you have any suggestions that is ideal for our place. The environment may not really complement the birds eyes that's why I really doubt if I must still prefer birds over fishes. Would you think it's right or I'd rather not to have one?

You can surely keep birds. I think most of us do stay in cities only. Choose the place properly. The place should have lot of fresh air, light and no threat from big birds. You can choose the open area in your balcony or if terrace available then also you can keep your birds there provided you have enough protectin for them.

In my own experience, i prefer birds than fish. Since you are staying in an apartment well a pair of bird would be fine. Fishes is a high maintenance type of pet and are very sensitive. If you choose birds as pet, just make sure that you place them high enough that kids would not be able to open the cage.

If you are going to keep birds just ensure you keep them in a high place and preferably they should be close to nature. You can surround the place with trees. They will like it.

I think having a pair of birds is more ideal. Birds are lower maintenance than fishes. Cages are easier to clean than fish tanks. Plus, you just need to supply them enough water and food for an entire day. No need to give them food frequently.

I just hope birdscage smell will not invade our whole house. I think sometimes that's a little problem. Sams, I could not sorround it with trees because we are living in a city but I could surely sorround it with buildings.

We had our birds for several years now and so far; there has been no problem with their smell. I just clean their cage once or twice a week. It will be easier for you to clean the cage if you will put an old newspaper at the bottom of the cage so their poop will fall on the paper and all you need to do is remove the newspaper and replace it with a new one. No need to scrub it with soap and water.
