Yes they do. Feather plucking is common for this. I have found that some good ways to conquer it is spend some time with the bird doing calming activities, like reading a book to them or having their cage near you if you work at home, talking to them and having their cages stocked with toys and activities that help in their care. If it's a species that requires socialization with birds, like lovebirds, finches some species of parrots, parakeets, get a mate. Itcould be they are lonely. Some species will die from lonlieness in the form of starvation, feather plucking, etc.
