Default How to make a bird pregnant?

I have a pair of lovebirds and it seems that it has been such a long time and they are not yet producing eggs. I wonder if there is something I could do to encourage them to mate and lay eggs.

Maybe they don't feel comfortable enough. Is there something you could improve concerning their cage ? Or do you think the cage is alright for them and there is another reason ?

Is it really possible ? I never heard of
successfully breeding birds in cages.

I think we were able to give ample consideration on the space in the cage so I don’t think that could be a problem. I just can’t think of other reasons why they won’t mate.

Well, i am no bird expert myself. And when you think they feel comfortable, then i have no other idea why they won't breed, too. Sorry that i can not help you.

We received the birds as a gift to my little brother for his birthday. We do not have any idea where they got it. Actually, we were thinking what if they were given two males or two females and not a couple and it could’ve been the reason why it won’t lay eggs.

It might be the reason why your birds did not mate. I think vets are more expert on that kind of stuff. I have not experienced taking care of any birds so sorry, I cannot help you too.

But the pet owners should be knowledgeable enough to determine if it is really a pair, right? Well, it was just a wild guess why the birds would not want to mate.

did you provide a nest for the them? Vet are more knowledgeable in determining their genders, possibly you got those birds in same gender... what do you think?
